Getting back on track!

Hi guys,

If you already follow me from social media then you might have noticed that my website has been down for some time now. And if you don’t follow me, then welcome..FYI my website was down :). It expired in march and I was wondering if I should keep it. At the time I haven’t been using it, I also wasn’t to sure on the direction I wanted to navigate towards with my photography, on top of that I was studying for my GRE to get into grad school (more on that later).

So what happened?

I stopped actively pursuing photography. I still worked with current clients but I was no longer pursuing any leads. Since then I taught a bunch of fitness classes at DEFINE, worked on my diet/meal plans, Traveled to Zion, Medellin, CDMX, the Galapagos and now i’m sitting at a desk in my airbnb in Guayaquil!. I’ll be back in Houston by the time this blog will post, and I’m just really excited to start this new beginning.

Lot’s of fun stuff happening with the website! Starting with this post. This blog post serves to explain the purpose for re-creating my website, it’s intention and my goals, both personal and as a professional photographer.

Let’s begin. I’m recreating my website as a means of getting back to my creative side, and to help me explore new ideas. Writing hasn’t always been easy for me. I never excelled in it, and I have no plans in doing so. It is, however, a better way to hold myself accountable. I need something more than posting a picture of my clients on instagram. I want to share our relationship, the concept behind the shoot, what worked and what didn’t work.

There is so much to what goes on behind the scenes that is definitely worth sharing. That’s what I plan to do. The plan is to update my blog with stories about photoshoots I’ve done. hopefully within a week turnover. The goal is to help me check-in with my progress, to strengthen my relationships with my clients, and to give you “the reader” a better insight of what it is like to work with me as a photographer. Hiring a photographer is an investment, and I want to make sure I’m the right fit for you. A year ago I would have said yes to anyone asking for me to take photos. I needed the experience. Some times it worked and some times I committed to something I could not deliver. Now, with a little more confidence in my skills, I want to work with people I know I can help execute a concept with. I also want to push my boundaries as an artist and really work with people to think out of the box. That leads to a personal goal of mine; To find my niche as an artist!.

Well, there it is. If you made it this far, Thank You. and if you just scrolled to the bottom, thank you (i guess). Let’s keep in touch by following me on social media, signing up for my newsletter, or through email (bmorquecho@b-morq.com)

Best,
